Busiest times and days of the week for each park

Hi,

This is probably common knowledge but sometimes I forget this info when planning a trip to the happiest place on Earth.

High-traffic times at the park include:

-The week between Christmas and New Year’s Day is one of the busiest times of the year at the parks.
-Presidents’ week in February
-Mid-March through Late April (“Spring Break”)
-Memorial Day weekend
-Mid-June through Labor Day
-Thanksgiving Day and weekend

No matter what time of year you are visiting the parks, there are some days of the week that are busier than others.

The busiest days of the week on its site for each park.

Magic Kingdom Park: Monday, Thursday, and Saturday
Epcot: Tuesday and Friday
Disney’s Hollywood Studios: Sunday and Wednesday
Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park: Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday

If you’re looking for a time where the parking lot will be less than full and the wait times won’t be as high, you’ll want to go during one of these times:

-January (except New Year’s Day) until just prior to Presidents’ week in February
-The week following Labor Day until just prior to Thanksgiving week
-The week following Thanksgiving until the week prior to Christmas

Request any old videos, picutres, or maps

Hi,
The main plan for Virtual Disney World is to provide a location where older ride videos, park videos, pictures, or maps can be viewed. I’m getting close to updating the new site to support this. If you have any links to sites such as YouTube, SnapFish, Picasa, or something similar, please comment to this post with the link. I would love to include it in the re-release of VirturalDisneyWorld.com.
Thanks.

Remember back to April, 1995 – Bay Lake boat rentals

As I mentioned in my last post we had signed up for the ‘food and fun’ package while we were on our honeymoon. One of the fun things we decided to do was to rent a couple of the mini boats from the Grand Floridian dock. Driving the boats around was a great way to explore Bay Lake and all the resorts that are on the shore. Back in 1995 we were also able to drive the boats to Discovery Island (now closed. more info here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Discovery_Island_%28Florida%29). This was before Animal Kingdom. We had a great time driving the boats around though I would be remiss if I didn’t mention that my boat was tragically slow and my wife’s was much faster. It may have been my driving or that I weight a good deal more than my wife, either way I was frustrated and my wife enjoyed every minute of it :-).

Thanks for reading.

Remember back to April, 1995 – Concourse Steakhouse

1995 was a great year.   My wife and I were married in 1995 and went to Disney World for our honeymoon. As I’m sure a lot of visitors to this site would agree, Disney World is not just for kids.

I’m hungry right now so I’m dreaming about food.  We were lucky to have signed up for the Disney dinning plan for our honeymoon.  I think the dinning plan was called ‘Food and Fun’ and it was a great value.   It included all our meals along with fun things like putt-putt golf and boat rentals (more about that in another post). One night we ate “Concourse Steakhouse” in the Contemporary (I think the Contempo Cafe is now in that spot).  The dinning plan included an appetizer, main course, and dessert.  I must admit that my only criteria for choosing a steak was the price.  I scanned down the menu and picked the most expensive.  The steak I choose was awesome and filling but of course I saved room for dessert (it’s included ;-).   I wish I had some pictures of the restaurant.  I only have these memories now.

Disney Memories Site

When I started thinking about Virtual Disney World a couple of years ago I imagined a site that would be a repository of videos, pictures, and music from the Happiest Place on Earth.  I’m still hoping to complete my dream for this site, someday.  In the meantime, Disney has created something pretty close. The Disney Memories site is pretty neat.

Introduction

Hi everyone,

My name is Mike and I am a Disney Fan to the extreme.  Probably not the most extreme fan, but I do really enjoy everything Disney.  This blog is about what I consider one of the happiest places on Earth, Walt Disney World in Orlando Florida.  I’d like to start a place for sharing, discussing, or just plain dreaming about WDW.

Thanks, Mike
